Friendly litter pickers in Boston borough

Text size:

Keeping Wyberton, Frampton, Kirton and Boston tidy, together

We are the Wyberton Wombles: a friendly group of neighbours who pick litter, share ideas and arrange clean-ups. Join in, wherever you live in Boston borough.

What the Wyberton Wombles are for

Wyberton Wombles is a group where we can show what we have achieved, bring ideas and arrange events for litter picking in our local area.

  • Show what we have done

Photos of our clean-ups, so everyone can see what a difference a few bags make.

  • Bring your ideas

A place that needs attention? A new way to help? Bring it to the group.

  • Arrange events

Clean-ups are arranged by the group, so you can pick with company.

Getting started is easy

Three steps, and you are ready to pick.

  1. Register with the council

Fill in the litter champion application form on Boston Borough Council’s website. It is the first thing we ask everyone to do.

How to register, step by step

  2. Get your kit

Ask Steph Leyland or Steve Slater for bags, pickers and gloves.

  3. Pick, bag up and leave the full bags

Leave full red bags by your green bin or the council’s bin, and never where they block a path or road.

What to do with full bags

Prefer it all on one page? Litter picking facts has everything, and you can print it.

Please do not pick up needles

If you see a needle or syringe, leave it where it is and report it on the Boston Borough Council website: choose Report / Action it, then Discarded needles / syringes.
